Thiruvananthapuram: A gang attacked three youths using lethal weapons for questioning them harassing a woman inside a hotel at Attingal on Saturday evening.
The woman was at the hotel with her friends and the gang passed some offensive comments about her. This was questioned by her male friends and the criminal gang of four then attacked them using lethal weapons.
Police have identified one of the accused as Ramees and search has been intensified for him and the three others. Police said Ramees is an accused in several criminal cases and the identity of the others are being investigated.
The youths were stabbed using a knife by the accused. They escaped as soon as police reached the spot. One of the injured Akshay was shifted to Thiruvananthapuram medical college hospital as his injury on the neck turned worse.
His friends Sabari and Ajith suffered minor injuries.
A case was registered against the accused under sections of IPC 308 for attempt to commit culpable homicide, 427 for mischief causing damage, 323 for causing hurt, 324 for causing hurt using a weapon, 294-b for abusing, 341 for wrongful restraint and 34 for crime involving more than one person.
