Vistara ramps up connectivity to Frankfurt & Paris with its 3rd Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner

Full-service carrier Vistara has increased frequencies to Frankfurt and Paris starting November 10. The airline is now operating 6x weekly flights between Delhi and Frankfurt, and 5x weekly flights between Delhi and Paris.

Vistara has added these flights as its third Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner joined its fleet recently, following customisation of the leased aircraft.

This is the first Dreamliner plane taken on lease by Vistara. The private carrier already has two Dreamliner aircraft, which were purchased from Boeing, in its fleet. Vistara had ordered six Dreamliner planes in 2018 but has received only two from Boeing. The second plane was delivered in August 2020.

Vistara’s third Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner comes with a three-class cabin configuration, with 30 seats in Business Class, 36 in Premium Economy and 226 seats in Economy Class. The new aircraft will also feature fully flat business-class seats, each with direct aisle access.

The full-service carrier has become the first-ever carrier to offer the choice of Premium Economy class on the route, in addition to Business and Economy class seats. The inaugural flight departed from CSMIA, Mumbai at 1910 Hours (IST) and arrived in Abu Dhabi at 2040 Hours (GST) on October 1.

In May 2022, the airline scaled up frequencies on several international routes, including Delhi-London and Mumbai-Singapore to daily flights, besides bolstering its other international and domestic routes. Earlier this week, Vistara inaugurated services between Mumbai and Jeddah, as well as on the Mumbai-Bangkok route.

The Boeing Dreamliner is a wide-bodied aircraft with a bigger fuel tank that allows it to easily operate on long-haul international routes with more capacity. The airline has a fleet of 54 aircraft, including 41 Airbus A320, five Airbus A321neo, five Boeing 737-800NG and three Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft and has flown more than 35 million customers since starting operations.
