Tis Hazari court extends Bibhav Kumar’s judicial custody till July 6

NEW DELHI: The Tis Hazari court in Delhi has extended the judicial custody of Bibhav Kumar, an aide to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, until July 16. This decision was made in relation to the alleged assault case involving Swati Maliwal.
Kumar’s appearance in court was facilitated through video conferencing. The extension of his judicial custody comes as the investigation into the assault case continues.
According to the allegations, Kumar is accused of assaulting Swati Maliwal, an AAP Rajya Sabha member, at the chief minister’s official residence on May 13.
The incident led to Kumar’s arrest on May 18, following which a magisterial court initially placed him in police custody for five days.
The FIR against Kumar, filed on May 16, includes several charges under the Indian Penal Code. These charges encompass criminal intimidation, assault or criminal force on a woman with intent to disrobe, and attempt to commit culpable homicide.
