Screening of the Euro Cup in Delhi

Spain fans at the special midnight screening of the Euro 2024 finale at Instituto Cervantes in Delhi erupted in joy, cheering and dancing as Spain lifted the winner’s trophy by beating England 2-1. With this win, Spain clinched their fourth UEFA Euro title. Spain kept possession of the ball for the majority of the game, and the victory was sealed by substitute player M.Oyarzabal, who scored the winning goal in the 86th minute. It is the second successive European Championship final defeat England have suffered and the fourth time Spain have lifted the Henri Delaunay Cup.
The victory led to a dual celebration for the country, as tennis ace Carlos Alcaraz had just hours earlier defended his Wimbledon title against Novak Djokovic in straight sets. “A good day for the Spanish people,” he had called it, and indeed, it was.

As the final whistle blew and Spanish football team celebrated their victory on the field, their fans and officials of the Spanish Embassy rejoiced the record win in Delhi. “It was a very exciting match. England has a very strong team and they played very well. It was a great final that Spain deserved to win. The most important is that we have a new generation of players such as Dani Olmo, Nico Williams or Lamine Yamal who are going to give us a lot of joy in the coming years,” said Spanish Ambassador Juan Antonio March Pujol, after the gripping Euro 2024 finale.
