Piramal Foundation, Google join hands to help 6 lakh children learn to read in 30 aspirational districts

NEW DELHI: Piramal Basis, the philanthropic arm of Piramal Group, on Monday stated it has tied up with tech big Google for an initiative to assist 6 lakh youngsters in India study to learn with the assistance of ‘Learn Alongside‘, a speech-based studying software by Google. This initiative has been launched in 30 aspirational districts throughout six states — Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh — spanning two years, the Basis stated in an announcement.
In response to the Annual Standing of Training Report (ASER) 2018, solely 50.3 per cent of all youngsters enrolled in fifth customary can learn not less than a second standard-level textual content.
In response to the Basis, the training initiative will intention to assist bridge this hole and empower 3,000 plus managers to coach 30,000 plus academics throughout India to assist enhance foundational literacy amongst college students aged 5-11 years.
This initiative aligns with the Ministry of Training’s NIPUN Bharat initiative (Nationwide Initiative for Proficiency in Studying with Understanding and Numeracy), which goals to make sure that each baby in India attains their foundational literacy and numeracy outcomes by 2026-27, it added.
