THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The sixth additional sessions court here rejected the anticipatory bail plea of a woman director in a case against her for allegedly forcing a youth to act in an obscene OTT web series.
The court rejected Lakshmi BP’s bail plea, directing her to face the probe. It is learnt that the accused will challenge the lower court verdict in high court. “The prosecution strongly pleaded that her custodial interrogation is a must in the probe, and the court was fully convinced,” said public prosecutor M Salahudeen.
“I saw an advertisement online and I expressed interest in acting in the project. Later, I was asked to reach an isolated villa in Aruvikkara, and was made to sign papers in order to start the project. I trusted her and signed the papers. However, the first scene was very vulgar, and I realised it was an adult movie. I told them I cannot act in it. But they demanded Rs 5 lakh compensation by showing the agreement. Left with no option, I acted in it,” said the 26-year-old youth, who threatened to commit suicide if the movie was released.
