MADURAI: Chennai Metro Rail Limited (CMRL) officials have clarified that a comprehensive mobility plan and an alternative analysis report, said to be missing in the detailed project report (DPR) for Madurai and Coimbatore metro rail projects, are included in the detailed feasibility report submitted to the state government.
This feasibility report, a precursor to the DPR, would soon be forwarded to the central government, said the CMRL officials.
The clarification comes after concerns were raised by Union minister of state for housing and urban affairs Tokhan Sahu regarding the absence of these components in the DPR submitted by the Tamil Nadu government.
The issue was highlighted in response to questions raised by Tamil Nadu MPs Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and Rani Srikumar in parliament on Thursday.
A senior CMRL official explained that the two reports, required as part of the metro rail policy 2017, were included in the feasibility reports prepared prior to the detailed project reports. These reports have recently been sent to the Tamil Nadu government for forwarding to the Centre, added the official.
