Khatauli assembly bypoll on December 5 as sitting MLA disqualified | India News

NEW DELHI: Bypoll to Khatauli meeting seat in Uttar Pradesh can be held on December 5, the Election Fee stated on Tuesday.
The bypoll was necessitated after BJP MLA Vikram Singh was final month convicted in a case associated to the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots and handed down a two-year jail time period.
Upon his conviction, Singh was disqualified as a lawmaker, and this was notified by the Uttar Pradesh meeting secretariat, lately.
Communal violence had erupted within the western Uttar Pradesh district after some political leaders made inflammatory speeches in September 2013. Not less than 60 individuals had been killed and greater than 40,000 displaced throughout the riots.
