The city-state has registered a growth of 5,780 voters since the 2023 Presidential Election. The current registered electors stand at 2,715,187, an increase from 2,709,407 eligible voters in 2023. The last general poll was held in 2020. A total of 2,651,435 people were eligible to cast their vote then.

The revised list was certified on July 21. It will be available for public inspection from today, July 23, the ELD said in a news release.

How to check the particulars in the registers

Citizens may check their particulars in the registers electronically in two ways.

(a) Voter Services (https://www.eld.gov.sg/online.html) at the Elections Department (ELD) website

(b) “My Profile” on Singpass App.

Those who are unable to check their particulars in the registers electronically may do so at the Community Centres/Clubs and ServiceSG Centres near their homes or at ELD office by making an e-appointment via ELD website or calling 1800-225-5353.

Overseas Singaporeans who cannot do so on-line may check their particulars at Singapore overseas missions serving as overseas registration centres.

Restoration of name to registers

Persons whose names were removed from the registers for failing to vote at a past election may still apply to have their names restored to the registers via Voter Services (https://www.eld.gov.sg/online.html) at ELD website, so that they can vote at future elections.

The ELD urged them to apply early. Under the law, the ELD will not be able to restore their names during the period from the date the Writ for an election is issued until after Nomination Day if the election is not contested, or until after Polling Day if a poll is to be taken. They will consequently not be able to cast their vote if the Electoral Division that they are residing in is contested.

Registration as overseas elector

Overseas Singaporeans whose names are listed in the Registers of Electors may register as overseas electors to vote by post or in-person at one of the ten overseas polling stations.

Overseas Singaporeans may register as an overseas elector via Voter Services at ELD website (https://www.eld.gov.sg/online.html) or in-person at one of the overseas registration centres.

To be eligible to register as overseas electors, overseas Singaporeans would need to have resided in Singapore for an aggregate of at least 30 days within the 3-year period prior to the date of registration as an overseas elector.

Registration as an overseas elector is open all year round. However, in accordance with the law, registrations will not be processed during the period from the third day after the Writ for an Election is issued until after Nomination Day if the election is not contested, or until after Polling Day if a poll is to be taken. ELD urged eligible overseas Singaporeans to register as overseas electors early if they wish to vote overseas at the next election.
