For Congress & AAP, secularism is hating Hinduism, says BJP | India News

NEW DELHI: BJP on Wednesday launched a fresh attack on Congress and AAP over some controversial remarks by their leaders about Hinduism, saying secularism for them meant expressing hatred towards the religion.
At a press conference, BJP spokesperson and Rajya Sabha MP Sudhanshu Trivedi also demanded that Rahul Gandhi needed to spell out his stance on the statement of Satish Jarkiholi, working president of Karnataka Congress, that ‘Hindu’ was derived from Persian and it meant “dirty”.
The saffron party also highlighted the alleged presence of Congress’s mayor of Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh at a mass conversion ceremony . “What mantra is Rahul ji blowing in the ears of the people during his Bharat Jodo Yatra?…not to hesitate to hurt Hindu sentiments if that fetches votes?” Trivedi said.
Saying that Congress leaders had used expressions like “saffron terror” and “Hindu terror”, Trivedi said that those from the “newest party” (AAP) was competing with the oldest one in hurting sentiments of the majority community.
“Both these (AAP and Congress) proponents of secular politics express hatred and disrespect towards Hinduism and the feelings of Hindus. That for them is the meaning of secularism,” Trivedi said.
“Now what do young politician (Rahul Gandhi) and ‘bagula bhagat’ (pretentious’ devout Arvind Kejriwal) have to say about the insensitive remarks of their party leaders? It shows their double character,” he said.
The BJP leader also sought to know why the Bharat Jodo Yatra was not taken out in Gujarat, the land of Mahatma Gandhi and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel
“Rahul Gandhi is perhaps giving a message to his leaders in the Bharat Jodo Yatra that do not lag behind in attacking the Hindu religion. The process of abusing the Hindu and Hindu religion has been going on for a long time. The incident of insult to the Hindu religion in the presence of a Congress leader in Chhattisgarh is no different incident. Indian culture and Hindu religion have been continuously attacked by the Congress party,” Trivedi said.
The BJP leader said that not only the country but people from abroad also keep talking about Indian culture. “Congress should know that Annie Besant had been the president of Congress,” he said and added, “Among all the religions of the world, there is no other religion more complete, scientific, philosophical and full of spirituality than Hinduism.”
