Erode: The daffadar of Erode district collector Rajagopal Sunkara was found dead under suspicious circumstances in his house on Saturday.
The deceased has been identified as C Vaithees, 26, of Pudhubeer Kadavu.
Vaithees returned home from work around 11.30pm on Friday and had dinner with his wife Kowsalya, 21, and two daughters aged five years and eight months, before going to bed.“ When his wife attempted to wake him up around 9am on Saturday, he was found motionless, with a thick fluid coming out of his nose,” said C Karthik alias Gowtham, the brother of the deceased.
When alerted, the Bhavanisagar police sent the body to the government hospital at Perundurai for a postmortem.
The collector visited the hospital to pay his last respects to Vaithees.
The Bhavanisagar police have registered a case and initiated an inquiry.
