To promote cruise tourism, Sitharaman announcened tax relief benefits for cruise operators. She announced the government will introduce simpler tax regime for foreign cruise companies for operating domestic cruise vessels in India.

– Rajgir: This ancient city, famous for its Jain temple complexes and sacred hot springs, will undergo comprehensive development to boost religious and wellness tourism.
– Nalanda: Efforts will be made to develop Nalanda as a significant tourist center, reviving the historical Nalanda University to its former glory.
– Vishnupada: The Vishnupada Temple in Gaya will be developed into a major spiritual and tourist destination.
– Odisha: The state will be promoted for its potential as a destination for religious and beach tourism.

This initiative will enhance the spiritual and tourist appeal of these sites, which hold immense significance for Hindus, Buddhists, and Jains.

Rajgir and Nalanda Initiatives:
– Rajgir: A comprehensive development initiative will be undertaken for Rajgir, known for its ancient Jain temple complexes and sacred hot springs. This initiative aims to elevate Rajgir’s status as a prominent religious and wellness tourism destination.
– Nalanda: The government will support the development of Nalanda as a major tourist center, alongside efforts to revive Nalanda University to its historical glory. These measures will boost the region’s cultural and educational tourism appeal.
