NEW DELHI: President Droupadi Murmu called the terrorist attack on an Army convoy in Jammu and Kashmir as a “cowardly act” and called for firm counter-measures.
The attack, which occurred on Monday in the Badnota area of Kathua district, resulted in the deaths of five Army personnel and injuries to five others.
This incident is the fifth terror attack in the Jammu region within a month.Heavily-armed terrorists ambushed a patrolling party, leading to significant casualties.
President Murmu expressed her sympathies for the families of the deceased and wished for the swift recovery of the injured.

In a post on X, she stated, “My sympathies are with the families of the bravehearts who laid down their lives in this ongoing war against terror in its all forms. I pray for the speedy recovery of those injured.”
She further stated the need for condemnation and decisive actions against such acts of terrorism. “The attack on a convoy of Army personnel in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir by terrorists is a cowardly act that deserves condemnation and firm counter-measures,” President Murmu said.
