Assam to abolish 8000 vacant posts of school teachers

GUWAHATI: The Assam authorities on Tuesday mentioned it’s going to abolish 8,000 vacant posts of faculty lecturers below the elementary schooling division as a bigger variety of contractual educators are already working below the Sarba Siksha Abhiyan (SSA). Training Minister Ranoj Pegu mentioned that the state authorities in 2020 had supplied a daily pay scale and different advantages to 11,206 contractual lecturers working below the SSA in decrease major and higher major faculties.
“As a way to preserve rationality towards this near-regularisation, the Govt. determined to maintain 8000 sanctioned posts of normal lecturers vacant to keep away from duplicity and monetary neutrality,” he mentioned in a Fb publish.
The minister mentioned that as these vacant posts have been saved frozen and shall be unfilled for an extended interval until the retirement of the contractual lecturers, the federal government has thought of it “prudent to abolish them for monetary self-discipline”.
Nevertheless, he mentioned that the state authorities might create posts as and when required owing to a rise in enrolment sooner or later.
