Man injured in fight during idol immersion in Hubballi

A 32-year-old man was injured in a fight between some people during the Ganesh idol immersion procession in Hubballi on Saturday night.

Chetan Gouda Bidnal of Maruti Nagar was admitted to hospital after he suffered stab injuries.

Police Commissioner N. Shashikumar visited the hospital and spoke to the doctors.

The relatives of the victim told the police that three people from Sonia Gandhi Nagar stabbed him.

Police Inspector M.M. Tahsildar said that the reason behind the attack is not known yet.

He said that there are some clear leads available with them and that the accused will be arrested soon.

In another incident, Prashant Kathare of Channapet was injured when an iron road from a table erected for the sound system pierced his back.

He has been admitted to KMCRI Hospital.
