A man accused of carrying out a brutal acid attack on his daughter and niece has been arrested by the police on Sunday (September 7, 2025).
The suspect, identified as Karnataka native K.C. Manoj, 46, was found hiding under the bed at an isolated house in Parakadav, Rajapuram.
On Friday, Manoj, who was reportedly intoxicated, poured acid on his 17-year-old daughter and 10-year-old niece at his brother’s house. The teenager had been staying there with her mother. Both victims sustained serious burns to their hands and legs and were admitted to hospital. They have since been discharge after their health improve.
Following the attack, a large-scale search was launched for Manoj. The police received information that he was hiding in an isolated location in Parakkadav. Police officers found Manoj hiding under the bed where he had been in concealment for a day.
The accused will be produced before the magistrate and is expected to the remanded.
