Forest watcher injured in wild elephant attack near Athirappilly

A forest watcher suffered injuries as he was attacked by a wild elephant at Pillappara near Athirappilly on Saturday night.

Subhash. C.R. was trampled by the raging elephant when he was on the road around 8.30 p.m., the Athirappilly police said. He was rushed to a private hospital in Chalakudy and from there he was referred to another hospital in Thrissur for advanced care.

Subhash has fractured a leg and suffered injuries to the upper part of his body. It needed to be ascertained if there was any internal injury, a source in the hospital at Chalakudy said.
