PMK MLA P. Arul (Salem West constituency) on Monday (September 1, 2025) said the nine-member Disciplinary Action Committee (DAC) of the party, constituted by founder S. Ramadoss, had submitted its recommendations in a sealed cover to him. The DAC had gone into various incidents that “marred the reputation of the party.”
Speaking to reporters after participating in a meeting at Thailapuram, Mr. Arul said the meeting, attended by all members, deliberated on various issues for over two hours. The committee submitted the minutes of the meeting with its recommendations, and the party founder will take the final decision, he said.
Mr. Arul further said a meeting of the district secretaries and presidents had been scheduled on Tuesday (September 2), followed by the meeting of the party’s administrative committee on Wednesday (September 3).
The party founder is empowered to accept or make any changes to the recommendations submitted in the report. The functionaries of the PMK’s parent organisation, the Vanniyar Sangam, will also attend the meeting of the district secretaries. The meeting will deliberate on the party’s growth and next course of action, including the enrolment of members.
Replying to a question, he said the party’s “working president” Anbumani Ramadoss had, so far, not responded to the show-cause notice sent to him.
