Two children undergoing treatment for amoebic meningoencephalitis have been discharged from the Government Medical College Hospital, Kozhikode, Kerala.

According to sources, the children, aged 12 and seven, respectively, are the siblings of the eight-year-old Anaya from Thamarassery, who died of the infection on August 14.

They were discharged on Monday (September 8, 2025).

The children were admitted to the Institute of Maternal and Child Health wing of the hospital soon after Anaya’s death when they also exhibited symptoms of amoebic meningoencephalitis. All the three had reportedly taken bath in a pond near their house.
