Ministry of External Affairs on Tuesday (September 9, 2025) has advised Indian nationals in Nepal to exercise caution and adhere to the steps and guidelines issued by the Nepali authorities. The ministry also condoled the lives lost in the Nepal protests.

“We are closely monitoring the developments in Nepal since yesterday and are deeply saddened by the loss of many young lives.”

At least 19 people were killed and over 300 injured in Nepal on Monday (September 8, 2025) after protests erupted in cities across the country, triggered by a sweeping social media ban imposed by the K.P. Sharma Oli government. The government revoked the ban late at night.
