As the Supreme Court continues to hear a case against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar, here is data from The Hindu on what the exercise means in election-bound Bihar, voter deletions in several districts, and an unusual pattern in deleted voter lists.

While the Election Commission of India has submitted in the top court that it would accept revision forms even after the deadline (September 1, 2025) and would integrate it into the final list, the Commission is also set to hold a conference of Chief Electoral Officers (CEO) of all States and Union Territories on September 10 to take stock of preparedness for rolling out a nationwide Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
