Minister for Human Resource Development (HRD) Nara Lokesh has expressed happiness over the fact that Andhra University (AU) has secured the 4th position in the State Public University category in the NIRF rankings released by the Union Ministry of Education at the national-level on Thursday.
In a statement, the Minister said last year, AU stood at 7th place in this category, but this year it has improved by three positions to reach the 4th rank. With this, Andhra University has claimed the No. 1 position among government universities in the State. In the overall Universities category, AU moved up from 25th rank last year to 23rd this year, he said.
In the combined category of Central Universities, State Universities, and Research Institutes, Andhra University stood at 41st place, the same as last year. Similarly, the Pharmacy College improved its ranking from 34th to 31st, the Engineering College from 90th to 88th, while the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Law College retained its 16th position.
The Minister congratulated Andhra University for securing 4th rank in the State Public University category and extended his best wishes to the university for improving its ranking, while also emphasising that much more needs to be achieved and urged for sustained efforts to reach long-term goals.
