NEW DELHI: Several airlines on Monday warned passengers of possible flight disruptions as heavy rains and flood alerts in Delhi-NCR led to waterlogging, traffic jams and long delays across the region. Both, Air India and Indigo issued advisories recommending passengers to plan “check their flight status in advance before heading out.”“Rain may impact flight operations to and from Delhi today. Please check your flight status here…. before heading to the airport and allow extra time for your journey to the airport,” Air India posted on X.In another post on X, Indigo said, “Delhi is under rainclouds, and the steady showers are affecting usual travel times. Traffic towards the airport is currently slower in several areas. We recommend planning your commute in advance and checking your flight status before heading out.”The airline added that airport teams are “on the ground and ready to support you as you travel. Thank you for your patience and cooperation.”Many areas in the Delhi- NCR region were submerged, with people struggling to manage daily tasks as short commutes stretched into hours due to severe congestion.Traffic crawled across the city, with long jams reported at underpasses and low-lying areas, while videos from different parts of the region showed commuters struggling in waterlogged streets. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) earlier issued an orange alert, warning of moderate to heavy rainfall in Delhi.
